Sunday February 11th I captured a styled shoot at Boone Monument Village in Marthasville, MO. The theme for the bridal styled shoot has been in my mind for quite a few months. An aztec wedding. I first gathered the colors I wanted to collaborate with for the shoot. After gathering colors orange, turquoise, pink and golds I knew I could not do this alone. I contacted Katie who owns Rouge events and designs located in Saint Charles, Missouri. I sat down with Katie back in January to go over every detail needed for the shoot. I was set on the venue as I have first saw the location in Summer of 2017. After giving the colors and theme to Katie she made sure to make this styled shoot as perfect as can be. From gathering feathers to fresh flowers for the themed wedding Katie went above and beyond. My task was to get a wedding dress, cake and to contact the venue. After meeting the manager at the venue and touring Boone Monument Village I knew this venue was a dream location for our styled shoot. Next on my list was to contact a few wedding dress boutiques. I first contacted White Traditions located in Saint Charles, Missouri as this boutique had a dress I thought would go perfectly with the theme. Once I met with Jessica the owner of White Traditions she showed me a few dresses that would match our theme. When Jessica showed me the one we used I ultimately knew that was the one! The dress was perfect for the aztec theme. The dress had bold straps with bold designs with a big cut out on the back I was in awe. After picking the dress I was ready to contact a few cake shops. My first choice was Sarah's Cake Shop located in Chesterfield, Missouri. Sarah's cake shop has some of the best cake pops in the Saint Louis area. The cake pops are a favorite of mine, from weddings to baby showers I have had plenty of deserts from Sarah's cake shop and they are a favorite. I knew this would be my first choice of cake recommendations. After emailing the manager for Sarah's cake shop she was approved by the owner to make a custom cake for the styled shoot. I emailed over some ideas I had saved on Pinterest and some mood boards saved. Once I got the rough draft of what the cake would look like I knew the cake would be perfect for the shoot. I had a ton of fun planning for months on this aztec themed wedding. From collaborating with Katie (Rouge events and designs) to talking to other local business owners I was so ecstatic to capture this! Take a look below to see the images from the styled shoot. Needless to say I was in awe and felt like I was in a dream the styled shoot could not have been more perfect!
A special thanks to all the vendors who helped create my vision on an aztec theme wedding!
